I don't understand quadratic equations.
No problem — let's start with the basics. A quadratic equation is one where the highest power of x is 2, like x² − 5x + 6 = 0. There are three ways to solve one; the easiest here is factorising: which two numbers multiply to +6 and add to −5?
−2 and −3?
Exactly right. So x² − 5x + 6 = (x − 2)(x − 3) = 0, which means x = 2 or x = 3. Ready to try one from a real NSC paper? 📄
